UVC LAMPS
LOW PRESSURE MERCURY LAMP
We have a low pressure mercury lamp (LP Hg lamp) that provides highly efficient short wavelength ultraviolet energy. Our LP Hg lamp converts forty percent of the electrical power into UVC radiation for germicidal applications.
*NOTE: the information is given by the manufacturer and can be submitted to modifications.
UVC Lamp Types
As we said earlier, lamps usually used in our equipments are "low-pressure-mercury" type in the ranges Standard, High output and Amalgam lamps:
- Standard lamps offer the highest efficiency with 40% of the lamp’s electrical power converted into UVC radiation at 254 nm.
- High-output lamps provide approximately twice the UVC output of standard lamps
- Amalgam lamps that are capable of yielding up to three times the UVC output when compared to standard lamps of the same length. So they offer reduced capital and maintenance costs over the lifetime of the system. Additionally the system designers can decrease the number of lamps required without compromising functionality.
STANDARD GERMICIDAL LAMP
LOW PRESSURE MERCURY
- Serial Lamps T5 - Low Ozone Generation
- Lifetime: 9000 Hrs
- Quartz tube. Diameter: 15 mm.
- Connection by 4 pines connector in one extremity
- A protection sleeve can be added, but dimming of 20 % of UVC radiation must be taken into account.
- The characteristic UVC is measured in laboratory in 254 nm and in 1 meter.
- The use of electronic ballast supply as those of fluorescent lamps confers an economic advantage. However, ballasts must be chosen according to the lamp’s specifications, particularly a regulation of the current to insure a smooth running without causing a change in the spectrum of the radiation emitted.
- The current of these lamps shall be situated in 425 mA in direct current.
- These tubes are connected with a 4-wire cable (Gauge AWG20).
